Happy Halloween:

Junior Company will be celebrating Halloween on 10/29!   We can't wait to see your costumes!

Fall Family Company Quick Showing:

Company classes and schedules make it hard for families to see their dancer, so we have set-up a fall family company quick showing for those that would like to see!   Other days an instructor/choreography may or may not invite families in at the end of class, but this is a date that everyone can count on! It is also a great day to video to help your dancer practice!

Celebration Convention, Jump! Convention and TOP Dance Directive:

Celebration:

For the 2017 and 2018 season, WBDC dancers attended the 1 day Celebration Convention in Duluth.   We had 95% of our competitive company attend.

Part of the success of WBDC Company members is due to their dedication, continual growth/training, and attending as many additional opportunities as possible.

We polled the students this summer and many of them said they liked conventions and learning new things, but sometimes they were long and very crowded.  We like Celebrations because it is 1 day, a great price, and although a lot of students attend it is not as long or as crowded as some of the other choices.

We sincerely hope we have excellent attendance!  We firmly believe what you put into your season is what you will get out of it!

Saturday, September 22nd at the DECC, Duluth MN

7 classes for $85!!  For the few students that DID NOT compete at Celebration last season with WBDC the price is $115.   Celebration gives a discount to returning dancers.

Payment Deadline is 9/1.

Sign-up at Company Registration.

All Leaps & Turns, Acro, Production and Small Groups will be canceled on 9/22.

Jump! Dance Convention:

We are offering an additional Convention for those dancers that do enjoy them.  We are not going to be going as a studio, so each dancer’s family is responsible for chaperoning/lunches/etc.   Anyone who chooses to attend we will have a WBDC staff member meet you for registration, but after that everyone is on their own.  We love Jump,  but it is more expensive and VERY crowded here in the Twin Cities.   For those that love it, we want to make sure you have the opportunity, but for those that don’t like the crowd or families who want to save a little $$ we recommend opting out of this opportunity.

Saturday & Sunday, November 10th & 11th at the Hyatt Regency,                                                                                                                              Minneapolis, MN

2 days of classes for Ages 5-7 $195, Ages 8-18 $250 Observers $50   ***These are the 2017-18 prices and the new ones have not been released at the time of this email.  It may go up a few dollars. They have been similar from year to year, but every few years they do increase.***

Payment Deadline is 10/7.

Sign-up at Company Registration.

We will still be having classes at WBDC and students will be responsible for learning any missed choreography, but will obviously be excused from classes if they wish to attend.

Talent On Parade Dance Directive:

Junior Company won a scholarship for “It’s My Party” last season.  So we have 11 full scholarships.   First, they are offered to the dancers in that piece.  After confirmation from those dancers, they will be raffled off to anyone else that is interested in attending.  Please see information below and let us know at Company Registration if this is an opportunity you are interested in for your dancer(s).  We will assist in organizing it more when we have everyone’s responses.  A group of about 15 dancers participated a few years ago when we also had won a group scholarship.

Sunday, October 28that the Comm Choice Convention Center in Des Moines, IA.

It is approximately 8 classes.

If all scholarships are used but your dancer still wants to attend here are the prices.

$69-7 and younger   $89 8-12years   $99 12-and up

We will still hold classes on Saturday 10/27 and dancers will want to plan on driving down Saturday afternoon.  It starts early Sunday morning.   Last time we went we had a fun dinner and swim night on Saturday night and then drove home on Sunday night after the convention.  We carpooled, shared rooms, etc. and had a lot of fun!
