Communication:

We will continue to use WBDC’s website, family’s WBDC online accounts (Dance Studio Pro) and weekly emails as our main forms of communication. Production 2026
“The Greatest Show”:

Inspired by one of our, and we think almost everyone’s, favorite soundtracks….we can’t wait to create the WBDC version!

As did “One Big Party”, “On The Catwalk”, “Cats”, “Hero”, “Queen”, “Under The WBDCea” and all the previous productions, it will have a fantastic music mix, special costumes, lots of dance styles in the choreography and a lot of creativity!

Company dancers (Sorry Mini Company, just a bit too young!) are welcome to sign-up. See your invitation email for pricing details. Rehearsals will be on Saturdays from 9:45-10:45am. During the creation process, there may be some weeks when not all of Production needs to be in attendance. Once registration is complete, we will update any weeks that dancers do not need to be present. Production will compete at all 4 regionals, nationals and will perform in most recitals. January 18, 2026 is the mandatory production rehearsal and will be located at Lakeaires Elementary School in White Bear Lake.

2025-26 season begins the week of 9/7/25!

NATIONALS-So EXCITING!

We have listened to feedback from SO MANY FAMILIES and the stars have FINALLY aligned this year (with many sets of variables), that we have made the big decision to take “The Greatest Show 2026” on the road to Nashville, TN to participate in Groove National Dance Competition! Groove offers a chance to compete against other amazing studios that we haven’t competed with before from around the country, a full regular competition, convention classes, special events/parties for dancers (2 different age groups!), an Opening Number for those selected at a regional event, a Dancer Of The Year Event (not related to their regionals and we will send out more information to soloists as we learn more!), a studio group photoshoot, photos/videos of all entries, a state of the art convention/lighting/sound stage, a wrap up/encore/final competition called “The Jam” and a few other surprises and things we are just learning about, too. We will pass along all knowledge we gather as we all plan for a fantastic July adventure!

This event will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, TN from 7/13-7/17. All Level 2 dancers will have a mandatory Summer Intensive 6/22-6/26 and Nationals Rehearsals 7/6-7/10 to prepare for this exciting event!

We get it…so many families are SCREAMING with excitement about this opportunity and then there are some who are saying (probably out loud at the computer or their families), “What are they thinking?! I was not planning this!”. Those “screaming” - we are beyond excited, too and this is a long-awaited event, but this is FINALLY the perfect time. Those “in shock or questioning this” - please just take a breath, go with it and enjoy the adventure. We promise you will have a great time, your DANCER(s) will LOVE IT and you will love getting to share this experience with them!

Deadline for sign-up is online company registration and payment is 9/1.

Titles of Acro Levels, Turns & Leaps Levels and Hip Hop Companies

For the 2025-26 season, Acro Levels will be A, B, C and D and Turns & Leaps Levels will be A, B and C. Our Hip Hop Companies will be 1, 2, 3 and 4. As we set up our technique program for this season, some things needed to be reorganized and restructured. Our inspiration for pieces for Hip Hop led us to create 4 companies instead of 5.

2025 Company Dress
Rehearsal Weekend:

We will have a full Company Dress Rehearsal Weekend 2/21-2/22 at Lakeaires Elementary School. (3963 Van Dyke St, White Bear Lake, MN 55110) Dress Rehearsal detailed schedule will be available December 2025.

Competition Entry Fees:

Some of the competitions this season have confirmed the new 2026 pricing and some have not. We have done our best to estimate the new prices based on the last few years of increases. The Dancer Packages do include our estimated entry fees in the total. We will contact families if needed if the prices increase more than our estimations and we will adjust future payments.

Music/Rehearsal Videos:

We will be using WBDC/DSP accounts for all Music and Rehearsal Videos. All Level 1 & 2 Companies, Small Groups and Production will have their music uploaded AFTER the first night of class.

Solos/Duets/Trios will have their music uploaded late August/early September. Some dancers begin pieces earlier than others, only due to scheduling of choreographers and multiple pieces. It doesn’t have any other meaning than being impossible for everyone to start at the exact same time and it is impossible to edit/upload everything at the same time.

Rehearsal Videos will be uploaded for classes as it makes sense to create them.

WBDC Picture Week:

All Level 1 & 2 Companies, Production, Small Groups and Solo/Duets/Trios (if they elect) will participate in WBDC picture week with all of WBDC’s recreational classes. Our booking is sadly not confirmed by the time of writing this, but we anticipate it to be 3/30-4/4. We will confirm once we have more information.

Level 1 & 2 Company Holiday Parties:

We will be doing our Secret Santa Gift Exchange between the dancers within a company. Their “Get To Know Me” forms will be sent home in class the week of 11/20 (Intermediate and Elite Company) and week of 11/24-11/26 for Mini, Petite, Junior, PreTeen, Teen, Senior and any Hip Hop Only Company. The final week of dance, 12/14, we will have holiday parties in class and exchange gifts. What does this mean exactly? More information to come! We are still working through a few of the final details!

Traditional Fall/MEA Break:

WBDC will be closed Thursday, October 16th through Saturday, October 18th for Level 2 Company Classes, Turns & Leaps Technique classes, Acro classes, Small Groups and Production. All Solo, Duets and Trios should speak with their choreographers. The studio will operate normal hours for all Recreational Classes, Level 1 Company classes and Adaptive Dance Classes.

Competition Company Uniform Look:

All girls will be doing a sleek low bun (no bun form) which is even with the bottom of the hairline and with a clear center part that goes from front hairline to the top middle of head even with ears this season.

Please keep this in mind when adding multiple layers and scheduling extreme haircuts.

All boys must have a clean cut/current haircut without it being in their face.

Pink, blue, green, etc. are really awesome colors to accent your hair, BUT they can’t show onstage.

All girls will be utilizing the regular crystal competition earrings available in pierced or clip. There cannot be any other jewelry worn - multiple earrings, nose piercings, naval piercings, etc.

Dancers wishing to have a manicure or artificial nails during the competition/performance season must choose a natural French manicure without any extra embellishments (rhinestones, stripes, designs or colors). Please be mindful of the length/shape of artificial nails. With any partnering, especially contemporary choreography, please be sure the nail length/shape is comfortable for the rest of your dancer’s company.

Dancers must be free of tattoos, temporary or otherwise. Any older dancer who does have a tattoo of any kind must completely cover it with stage makeup. Please utilize the professional-level makeup specifically meant to cover tattoos and not bandages.

Monthly Tuition and Dancer Package Payments for the 2025-26 Season:

Level 1: All Company Tuition Payments will be on the 1st of the month September-May. All Dancer Package Payments will be on the 15th of the month September-March.

Level 2: All Company Tuition Payments will be on the 1st of the month September-June. All Dancer Package Payments will be on the 15th of the month September-April. Level 2 tuition is through June due to it including the 2026 WBDC Summer Intensive/Mandatory Nationals Technique classes in June 2026.

Injuries:

Unfortunately, injuries happen both at dance and outside of dance.

If a dancer is injured in the fall, dancers may need some extra private lessons with an assistant or staff member to catch up on choreography and to assist with any rehabilitation. Dancers need to attend all of their company choreography classes and technique classes. They must participate in any stretching or activities of the class that are safe to do while injured.

If a dancer is injured during dress rehearsal and competition season, it is at the discretion of WBDC if a substitution is needed within a piece. The injured dancer’s costumes may need to be altered (in a non-permanent way) to be worn until they are healed and are brought back into the piece. This is not optional, but an expectation of each dancer. There are no refunds of competition entry fees if a dancer cannot participate or if another dancer needs to be a substitute.

Returning to a piece after an injury is also at the discretion of WBDC. Just because they are cleared to dance doesn’t mean they are ready to compete. The rest of their body may need some time dancing full out again, so another injury isn’t created, their company may be too close to competition to have blocking or parts altered to be fair to all dancers, and if a competition has already been notified and changes have been made to their schedule, then they cannot be reversed. Just like injuries that may happen in the fall season, during the rehearsal/competition season dancers need to attend all of their company choreography classes and technique classes. They must participate in any stretching or activities of the class that are safe to do while injured.

Photos/Videos at Competitions

There is no photography or videography allowed by families/studios at events, except during awards ceremonies or in the public/general areas. Groove Regionals/Nationals and Masquerade do photos/videos as part of their entry packages so families will be able to download everything following the events. (Sometimes it takes a few weeks, and sometimes it is the Monday following the event. We never know!). All other competitions will have photo/video available for purchase, but WBDC will not be doing any studio packages. Please feel free to make choices directly at the events for your individual family.

Keeping up with Choreography
and Technique:

If a company member is falling behind in choreography or technique, then private lessons will be recommended with an assistant or staff member. Each family is responsible for the charges accrued due to these extra lessons.

If after extra lessons and focused attention a dancer is unable to perform at the same level as their company, pertaining to performance level, choreography knowledge and technique, then they will be removed from pieces until they have caught up. They will be added back into pieces at the discretion of WBDC. This is a rare occasion, but there were some challenges in past seasons and we want to make sure that everyone knows this is an option.

If a dancer is removed from a piece due to lack of effort, there will not be any refunds on costumes or entry fees and no adjustments will be made to monthly tuition.

We feel everyone will try 100% all season and we will never have to revisit the above information!

Completing the 2025-26 Season:

Families are responsible for paying the full dancer package payments Sept-March/April even if they choose to leave the 2025-26 company program in the middle of the season or in the case of another pandemic experience. The only exception is entry fees. Anything that has not already been paid to an outside company will be subtracted from the payments. If entry fees have been paid, there will not be any refunds. There are no exceptions.

Families must let WBDC know in writing that they are opting to stop their monthly tuition prior to the 1st of the month. If the communication is received after the 1st of the current month, there will be no refunds and/or the family is responsible for the current month, even if their dancer is not participating.

Summer Intensive and Nationals Rehearsals 2026

Summer Intensive and Nationals Rehearsals are mandatory. The 2026 WBDC Summer Intensive is 6/22-6/26. The Summer Intensive is similar to last summer’s Nationals Technique Classes. Due to the different layout of the Summer 2026 schedule, we are combining the National’s Technique Classes and our WBDC Summer Intensive. Nationals Rehearsals will run 7/6-7/10. Confirmed times, age groups for the intensive and full rehearsal schedule will be available early January 2026.

Improv Classes

Improv is so much fun, but there are techniques/processes/ideas to be developed just like all styles of dance/creation of choreography. Dancers utilize improv in the classroom setting to develop their individual artistry/style and to really work on expanding movement qualities, dynamics, performance and musicality. Improv also finds its way into dance competitions and we want to make sure that all WBDC dancers have an option to prepare for these events if they ever chose to participate. Please see below for the various Improv class options throughout the year and your dancer is welcome to register for zero or all of them online HERE!

11/22 WBL Ages: 5-10 6:00-6:45pm $10 and Ages: 11-18 6:45-7:45pm $13

3/21 WBL Ages: 5-10 6:00-6:45pm $10 and Ages: 11-18 6:45-7:45pm $13

Complete Payment of a Season BEFORE Participating
in a New Season.

A dancer’s account must be paid in full, including late fees, prior to beginning a new season with WBDC. Examples only, but not all circumstances: Fall-Spring Season must be paid prior to beginning a Summer Season. Summer Season must be paid prior to beginning a new Fall-Spring Season. Winter 6 Week Class must be paid before starting a Spring 6 Week Class.

Company Attendance:

All Company members are required to have excellent attendance. More than 3 absences in a condensed time period may result in private lessons, removal from choreography (parts or whole), removal from upcoming performance, and/or removal from the company. All above options are at the discretion of WBDC. Any tardiness or absence must be communicated to WBDC front desk by phone 651-426-4793 or email info@whitebeardancecenter.com by a parent/guardian prior to the beginning of class/rehearsal. Please do not call, email, or text a teacher/choreographer, for they may be in class/rehearsal and not able to get the communication.

We all love vacations! However, multiple vacations combined with school events and sickness get to be a challenge within a season. Not only does the dancer that misses suffer from missed choreography, technique and conditioning, the entire company misses out on rehearsals with proper spacing, partnering, details and timing. Taking time out of class to have to excessively review or backtrack is unfair and not a great use of time for those dancer’s that were in class. Private lessons cannot replace a class atmosphere and the teamwork it takes to be a successful group or company. Please make excellent choices for your dancer(s), as well as value the time and commitment of your fellow company and their teachers/assistants.

Week Before Dress Rehearsals, Performance/Competitions
Mandatory Events:

The week before dress rehearsal/performance/competition and any mandatory scheduled rehearsals/technique classes including Nationals if applicable, are just that, mandatory. Failure to attend rehearsal or class, be it for cleaning, choreography, or technique, may result in removal from part or whole of choreography or performance. School graded events should be discussed with WBDC staff ahead of time for exception. There will be no refunds for competition entries.

Any company dancers, Level 1 or 2, will have an adjusted schedule the weeks leading up to dress rehearsal and/or competition weekends. We often have to change times/days to accommodate rehearsal schedules for those that have their weekly classes during the various events. Full updated schedules will be available in DSP calendars in January 2026. Dancers will be required to be at all rehearsals.

7/13-7/17 All Level 2 Dancers

These are just the things leading up to events or the event dates. All rehearsals and technique classes are important. We realize the time, financial and energy commitment families put into being a WBDC Company member. Please be considerate with planned absences out of respect for your own time/financial/energy commitment, as well as all of the other Company dancers that depend on your dancer.

Difference Between Private Lessons and Company Solo/Duet/Trio Packages:

Private Lessons are booked with WBDC staff members to work on technique, new skills, conditioning, etc. We open these lessons periodically based on studio and staff availability. We are working to have more of these available as time/space allows. Any dancer, regardless of WBDC program, can elect to book a Private Lesson. They are booked per 1/2 hour time slots and must be paid in full before the start of the lesson.

Company Solo/Duet/Trio Packages are auditioned based and include 6 hours of private lessons and choreography intended for the creation/use during current competition season by a Company dancer(s). Additional lessons are confirmed after Solo/Duet/Trio Showing in January 2026 with WBDC staff and scheduled through Nationals 2026. Package payment is completed in the fall and then a payment plan is arranged for the remaining winter/spring/summer rehearsals through Nationals.

Private Lessons for dancers with excessive absences or falling behind in company choreography may need to be arranged by WBDC staff members when the various situations arise to help a dancer. They are booked per 1/2 hour time slots and must be paid in full before the start of the lesson. Class attendance is VERY important. Private lessons can list/show new material that may be missed, but they are not a substitution for excessive absences. There is not a single individual private lesson that can replace the classroom experience and growth for a company as a whole, as well as maintain a consistent schedule for a dancer.

Extra Fall-Level 2 Company Rehearsals, Hip Hop Companies 2-4 and Small Group Rehearsals:

Please see your company’s or small group’s page for your dancer’s extra rehearsal schedule.

These rehearsals are REALLY important and heavy in choreography. Your dancer will have a lot to catch up on if they miss these rehearsals.

Company Solos, Duets, and Trios:

Please note, to accept a Solo, Duet, Trio or Small Group, a dancer must participate in Production, Turns & Leaps and Acro.

The initial private package includes 6 hours of privates.

Private time slots are in your dancer’s invitation. Times will be reviewed during registration and confirmed once everyone has registered. Your choreographer will contact you about their song selection/piece ideas in the weeks following registration.

All private lessons will start the week of September 28th, unless you receive different communication from your choreographer after company registration is complete. There are additional weeks that there will not be any privates due to studio closings and studio events. All privates will be held on all remaining weeks up to the holidays, unless specifically communicated by a choreographer. All privates will be held in January through the mandatory Solo/Duet/Trio Showing at WBDC on 1/10-1/11/26. Specific schedule will be available in November 2025. WBDC will then determine the private schedule through the competition season (including Nationals) based on the individual needs of each piece and it will be emailed to your family after the Solo/Duet/Trio Showing. The remaining payment for lessons will be arranged at this time. All scheduled privates will be posted in WBDC/DSP calendar after Company Registration is complete.

The 6-hour initial private package payment plan will be confirmed at registration. After the 6 hours is complete, all additional private lessons must be paid in full BEFORE the lesson occurs at the rate of $30/half hour. There will be no exceptions. All payments go through the front desk of WBDC.

Dancers must cancel privates by 9:00am each day by emailing info@whitebeardancecenter.com to not be charged for a lesson.

WBDC Student Rehearsal Time:

Families will be able to book online through DSP to utilize WBDC for student rehearsal. Dancers participating in Company Solo/Duet/Trios are expected to practice at least once a week before returning to rehearsal with their choreographer/instructor. Regulations surrounding these rehearsal times, online booking directions, cancellation policy, how to use the door lockbox/get a link to the app and group rehearsals are listed in great detail in the waiver that must be signed online by all families. Where is this waiver? In your families DSP account. Please SIGN THE WAIVER BEFORE COMPLETING YOUR DANCER’S COMPANY ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM! After company registration is complete, we will begin the process of sending information for door lock access for the 2025-26 season.

We are planning to continue this offering for free to our families, but with very clear expectations. If expectations are not met, we have plans in place to change to studio rental fees and as a final choice, cancel this offering. The ability to practice in a studio space is such a benefit to our dancers that we sincerely hope that all guidelines will be followed so we can continue this offering complimentary to our dancers.

Dancers are welcome to rehearse duets, trios and small groups WITHIN a booked time. 1 dancer can book the time slot and then ALL names must be included on sign-in/out paperwork. Solos are NOT a group activity and should be rehearsed independently. Full companies that want to rehearse together or groupings other than those listed above must be pre-arranged by Jenny or Katie. Every once in a while, a group or two of dancers would use student rehearsal time as a “hang out” and this isn’t how these rehearsal times should be used. Space is at a premium and sometimes the “hang out” mentality is disruptive or rude to others. Please be respectful of other’s time/rehearsal and the space.

Student Rehearsal times are released in blocks and we will always send out emails when we open new availability. Sometimes the studio is closed for special events, staff needs and bi-weekly for our regular cleanings, plus all of our classes and lessons. If you do not see availability, then there isn’t any.

Please remember this is FREE and we are not obligated to give anyone space. We feel the benefits are worth it and the majority of dancers are very thankful and use their time wisely. The needs of our programs, staff, facility and outside paying groups renting our space take precedence over FREE student rehearsal space.

Please do not use the lockbox access to let your dancer into either WBDC location before WBDC operating hours if they don’t have studio rehearsal space booked or a booked lesson with an instructor/choreographer. WBDC is not available for dancer’s to just “hang out” when it is not general business hours, meaning the front desk is not open. Please see WBDC homepage for current operating hours!

Costuming for Company Solos,
Duets and Trios:

All dancers accepting Solo, Duet or Trio invitations may select one of the following options on their company registration:

A) All Inclusive Costuming: WBDC will work with solos, duets, and trios and their choreographers in the design/creation/alteration/embellishment (rhinestones if needed)/purchase of the costumes. We work with all choreographers for their visions, as well as the dancer’s wishes to create the perfect look. WBDC is proud to be able to achieve a high, award-winning standard of costuming at the base costume allowance built into your financial package.

B) All Inclusive, but Family Rhinestones: This is for the families who have someone that enjoys rhinestoning if applicable to the costume. The costume is completed for you, rhinestone design is started and then sent home with additional rhinestones/glue for a family member to complete.

C) WBDC Only Gives Approval: Family is responsible to work with choreographer to complete their vision and will order, fit and complete costume in its entirety without WBDC assistance other than approval. Design must be submitted by 10/15/25 for approval. 100% completed costume must be shown by 2/7/26 for approval. Dancers cannot wear costumes that have not met WBDC approval deadlines. For duet/trios, all dancers must elect this option if interested, not a combination of A/B and C. WBDC is happy to sell rhinestones to a family, but WBDC seamstresses or ordering assistance/resources is not available if this option is elected.

Please see Company Invitations for pricing that goes with choices A, B and C and selections will be made on your dancer’s company online registration.

Marketfest and
Manitou Days Parade:

These two events, plus a Marketfest rehearsal will be on the calendar for June 2026. We anticipate Marketfest to be 6/18 and Manitou Days Parade 6/19. We will confirm in early 2026.
